Delivering Garden Waste

You can deliver garden waste to Rusko Waste Management Centre in Oulu and to Pudasjärvi Transfer Depot.

Rusko Waste Management Centre

You can deliver garden waste to Rusko Waste Management Centre throughout the year. Please separate branch and stick waste apart from raking waste. You must empty raking waste placed in plastic bags yourself. Loose grass and fallen leaves as well as tops and other aerial parts of herbaceous plants are considered raking waste.

Please do not deliver soil, sand, rootstocks, tufts of grass or tree stumps amidst garden waste. They impede the utilization of raking waste since the waste is crushed.

Rootstocks belong in mixed waste. You can deliver them to Rusko Waste Management Centre’s Sorting Arena Lare for a charge.

Tree stumps can be delivered to Recycling Yard Kirsi for a charge. Pure soil can be delivered to, for example, the city of Oulu’s Excess Soil Collection Point in Kaakkuri (in Finnish).

Personal customers

You will receive garden waste tickets with the Recycling Handbook distributed in April. With the ticket, you can deliver one load of garden waste free of charge. The load must fit into a trailer of a passenger car. The ticket’s period of validity is written on the ticket.

If you do not have a ticket, one passenger car trailer load costs 10 €. Larger loads will be weighed. The minimum payment is 10 €.

Housing companies

Agree on delivering large skips of garden waste by contacting us via e-mail in the address toimisto@kiertokaari.fi or by calling our customer service (tel. 08 5584 0020, Mon – Fri 8.00–16.00). Using the vehicle scale will be easier when delivery has been agreed on beforehand.

You can pay for the garden waste skips with garden waste tickets, if you have tickets for 80 % of the apartments of your housing company.

For example, if your housing company has 10 apartments, you need 8 garden waste tickets. Without tickets, the skips will be charged according to its weight and the waste type.

Instructions for packing skips

Only place raking waste, branches and sticks on the skips. If possible, place branches and sticks on one end of the skip, in a way that most of the waste can be transferred with a machine.

Do not place items packed in waste bags, soil, rocks, earth and other inappropriate items on the skips.

Utilizing garden waste

Branches and sticks are chipped and utilized in energy production. Raking waste is used to mix composts in contaminated land in order to let air in the soil.
